Questions to ask any fertility clinic

Before you choose a clinic, ask these. The answers tell you more than the published success rates.

Published success rates are useful but they are also age-confounded, cycle-mix-confounded, and a year out of date by the time you read them. The conversations you have at the consultation matter more.

Ask: who runs my cycle, day to day? You want a name, not 'the team'. Ask: how do I get monitoring results, and how quickly? You want 'posted in the portal the same day', not 'the nurse will call you'. Ask: what does cancellation look like, and how often does it happen for someone in my situation?

Ask: what is your default protocol for someone with my AMH and antral follicle count, and what alternatives have you considered? You are not testing them — you are looking for whether they will speak to you in specifics or in generalities.

Ask: what is the total cost, in writing, for the path you are recommending, including medications, monitoring, and any add-ons you might recommend mid-cycle?
