Bristol Fertility Center
What to expect

The path, from first call to outcome.

Most clinics ask you to trust the process. We think you deserve to see it. Here is how care unfolds at BFC, in six steps that are explained the same way to every patient, every time.

  1. 01

    Day 1

    Inquiry

Submit a short inquiry. A care coordinator calls you back the next business day to schedule a consultation, talk insurance, and answer any first questions.

    • Three-minute online form
    • Insurance check while we talk
    • Consultation booked before you hang up
  2. 02

    Week 1–2

    First consultation

A 60-minute conversation with the physician who will lead your care. We listen first. By the end of the call, you have a written summary of what we heard and what we recommend next.

    • 60 minutes, in person or remote
    • Same physician across your care
    • Written summary in your portal within 24 hours
  3. 03

    Week 2–4

    Diagnostic workup

Bloodwork, ultrasound, semen analysis where applicable, and any further imaging your physician orders. Most workups complete within two cycle weeks.

    • Hormonal panel and AMH
    • Antral follicle count
    • Semen analysis where applicable
    • Saline sonogram if indicated
  4. 04

    Week 3–5

    Care plan review

We sit down again, share the workup, and walk you through the recommended path with options, expected timelines, costs, and decision points laid out in writing. Nothing starts without your sign-off.

    • Plan delivered in writing
    • Timeline and decision points named
    • Cost estimate with insurance benefits applied
    • Sign-off required before treatment
  5. 05

    4–8 weeks per cycle

    Treatment cycle

Stimulation, monitoring, retrieval, and transfer (or insemination) on the schedule we agreed on. One nurse runs your cycle. You always know what is next.

    • Daily monitoring with results posted same-day
    • Single nurse-of-record
    • Procedures performed on-site
    • On-call team after hours
  6. 06

    Week 9 onward

    Outcome and next steps

Pregnancy support through 10 weeks, with a structured handoff to your obstetrician. If the cycle was unsuccessful, we sit down again, look at what we learned, and decide together what comes next.

    • Pregnancy support to 10 weeks
    • Coordinated OB handoff
    • Honest conversation about next cycles

Integrated support

Care does not end at the exam-room door.

Fertility care is medical, but it is rarely only medical. We have built support services into the same care pathway, so they are not extras you have to find yourself.

  • Mental health

Two licensed reproductive psychologists on staff. Initial sessions covered for all active patients.

  • Nutrition

Registered dietitians with fertility-specific training. Group and 1:1 sessions available.

  • Peer community

Small-group cohorts for IVF and egg-freezing patients, run monthly.

  • Financial guidance

A dedicated coordinator who walks you through benefits, financing, and tax considerations.

Ready when you are

There is no wrong time to ask the first question.

A consultation is not a commitment. It is a 60-minute conversation with a physician who will tell you, plainly, what is possible and what comes next.
